The mountains know. You would be surprised how much they know. At first glance, they seem like nothing but giant rocks jutting out of the ground, but I have learned through painful experience that they are so much more.ย
The mountains know so much, and if they could only speak, oh the stories that they could tell. And if one is observant enough and knows where to look or to listen, one would be able to see and hear the mountains reveal their secrets. If one dug up the ground and the snow from the mountains, one would find the remains of many pioneers who took to the trail to hopefully find a better life, only to find death instead. If one listened hard enough, one would hear the howls of the wolves at the moon, the same wolves that had devoured many unfortunate travelers along these mountains.ย
These mountains know so much and hold so many secrets about many travelers including myself.
