Jack Durkin is the ninth generation of Durkins who have weeded Lorne field for nearly three hundred years. Though he and his wife Lydia are miserable and would like nothing more than to leave, Jack must wait until his son has come of age to tend the field on his own. It’s an important job, though no one else seems to realize it. For, if the field is left untended, a horrific monster called an Aukowie will grow—a monster capable of taking over the entirety of America in just two weeks. Or so it is said …

Dave Zeltserman is the award-winning author of numerous noir, horror, mystery, and thriller novels, including A Killer’s Essence, Monster, Pariah, and Small Crimes, made into a Netflix Original film starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The Caretaker of Lorne Field is being adapted for film by production company Stone Village, with script by Black Swan screenwriter Andres Heinz. Dave Zeltserman lives in the Boston area.

Paul Heitsch has been narrating audiobooks since 2011, after having worked as a pianist, composer, recording engineer, producer, and sound designer for many years. His work is often cited for the authenticity he brings to the narrative and characters he portrays, as well as his versatility, and clear, smooth delivery.
