Reviews

A classy thriller packed with pace and action, Hannah also brings real depth and human interest to the story. Such a great writer. Never written a single lazy sentence. Reading her books reminds me of why I love reading so much. Incredible characters and inspired plots; the gold standard. This was a real page-turner that see-sawed between cases, keeping tension taut till the very last sentence Mari Hannah, in short, sharp chapters, proves once again her mastery of plot, procedure and police humour. The denouement, when it eventually arrives, is satisfying and shocking Northumberland-based Mari Hannah remains one of the foremost crime fiction writers working in the UK today and her latest 'Her Sister's Killer' is packing real heat... Hannah is brilliant at capturing the various factions in the police force as they rub up against each other, and in 'Her Sister's Killer' she gives us not one, but two meaty cases to get stuck in to. Her Sister's Killer had me hooked from the very first line. This treat of a crime novel is engrossing and thrilling, but also deeply moving. Mari has a rare gift for creating pacy page-turners with genuine emotional depth, offering insight into the nuances of human nature, along with all the twists and turns. Already one of Britain's top crime writers, Mari just gets better and better. Her Sister's Killer begins with a fantastic opening - both thrilling and moving and doesn't let up from start to finish. A rich, complex and thrilling book. Expand reviews
