Giovanni Boccaccioย (1313โ€“1375) was an Italian author and poet, a friend and correspondent of Petrarch, and an important Renaissance humanist. As a writer he is particularly notable for the verisimilitude of his dialogue, in an age when most writers followed formulaic models for character and plot.

Cassandra Campbellย is an actress, director, and teacher who has performed in New York at the Public Theater, the Mint Theater, and the Clurman Theatre. She is an accomplished voice-over artist whose credits include numerous audiobooks, documentaries, and commercials in both Italian and English.
