Learn moreFor this book, author Diane Conway approached a police officer, a waitress, a politician, a lawyer, a cab driver, and many others, and asked them each the same question: "What would you do if you had no fear?" The results, chronicled in this book, were both surprising and enlightening—her respondents told her their secrets, their long-hidden dreams, and their fears. Their dreams included quitting mind-numbing jobs, applying to medical school, buying tickets to South America, finding true love, quitting drinking, or having an affair. The distance between dreaming and doing, according to Conway, is surprisingly short. In What Would You Do If You Had No Fear? her fresh voice and "Studs Terkel in drag persona" challenge readers to stop, open their hearts, and truly live. Included are self-tests, quizzes, growth exercises, and inspiring quotes for realizing one's fear-free potential.
Diane Conway is a popular inspirational speaker, workshop leader, and comedian who lives her dreams while quaking in her boots. She’s appeared on British and American television, in comedy clubs, and in plays like Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding.
Pam Ward has had many incarnations, including private detective, classical musician, television talk-show host, and actress, having performed in dinner theater, summer stock, and Off-Broadway, as well as in commercials, radio, and film. But she found her true calling reading books for the blind and physically handicapped for the Library of Congress Talking Books program, for which she received the prestigious Alexander Scourby Award from the American Foundation for the Blind. An AudioFile Earphones Award winner, her many audiobooks include Dancing in the Streets by Barbara Ehrenreich, Breaking Free by Lauraine Snelling, The Second Journey by Joan Anderson, and Lion in the White House by Aida D. Donald. She now records from her studio amidst the beauty of the Southern Oregon mountains.

“Unforgettable stories do most of the work in this get-off-the-couch-and-live motivational audio. These stories are alternatively inspiring, uplifting, and heartbreaking, and all ring true in a way that most listeners will be able to learn from. We must accept fear as normal, the author says, whenever we venture into new territory or try to shake off old habits. Whether what we want to do is big or small, for ourselves or the world, her stories and strategies will allow us to shift into a can-do state of mind that sees no obstacles. Pam Ward’s reading sounds professional and genuinely connected to all parts of the message.”
