The thrilling follow-up to the New York Times bestselling novel One Second After

Months before publication, One Second After was cited on the floor of Congress as a book all Americans should read, a book discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a truly realistic look at the dangers of EMPs. An EMP is a weapon with the power to destroy the entire United States in a single act of terrorism, in a single second; indeed, it is a weapon that the Wall Street Journal warns could shatter America. One Second After was a dire warning of what might be our future โ€ฆ and our end.

One Year After returns to the small town of Black Mountain and the man who struggled to rebuild it in the wake of devastation: John Matherson. It is a thrilling follow-up and should delight fans in every way.

William R. Forstchen is the author of the New York Times bestseller One Second After and We Look Like Men of War, among numerous other books in diverse subjects ranging from history to science fiction. He has co-authored several books with Newt Gingrich, including Gettysburg: A Novel of the Civil War, Pearl Harbor, Days of Infamy, To Try Menโ€™s Souls and Valley Forge. Forstchen holds a Ph.D. in History from Purdue University, with specializations in military history and the history of technology. He is currently a Faculty Fellow and Professor of History at Montreat College, near Asheville North Carolina. He is a pilot and flies an original WWII recon โ€œwarbird.โ€ He resides near Asheville with his daughter Meghan.

Bronson Pinchot, an Audie Awardโ€“winning narrator and Audibleโ€™s Narrator of the Year for 2010, received his education at Yale University. He restores Greek Revival buildings and appears in television, film, and on stage whenever the pilasters and entablatures overwhelm him.

Reviews

โ€œAt the start of bestseller Forstchenโ€™s stirring sequel to 2009โ€™s One Second After, 730 days have passed since EMP weapons destroyed nearly all electronic equipment in the continental USโ€ฆFans of Forstchenโ€™s historical novels coauthored with Newt Gingrich will be satisfied.โ€

โ€œA fine postapocalyptic thriller, with richly drawn characters and the kind of story that we can easily imagine happening.โ€

โ€œForstchen did such a damned fine job with One Second After that shortly after the first page, I had been reeled in hook, line, and sinker.โ€
