The Army blamed Cooper for what happened and for two years his life had been a lonely one, trying to redeem himself. Now it seems he will have his chance, except that the commander of the military escort of a freight wagon train is skeptical when Bass Cooper warns them of an imminent attack by the crafty Big Head and his warriors.
