Dan Harland was a legend. A hired gun, Harland had earned a reputation as one of the fastest gunslingers in the West. He didn't like to kill, but he did it with deadly accuracy. The money wasn't too bad, either. However, when he is hired to kill a man who is seemingly all too ready to die, Harland begins to have second thoughts about his occupation and seeks out the shadowy figure who hired him.

H.A. DeRosso (1917-1960) was an American author known for his pulpy noire Western novels and short stories. He began writing short stories in high school, publishing his first in Street & Smith's Western Story Magazine in 1941. In just a few short years, he became a full-time writer until his death in 1960, penning classic Westerns such as .44 (1953) and The End of the Gun (1955).

Michael Lackey is a professional theatre actor and voice artist with more than forty years of experience. A veteran of more than forty productions, he has performed Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera with four companies, doing over 3,500 performances and playing the title role more than 200 times. His voice has been heard on national television as an announcer for skating specials and in several commercials, and he has narrated several audiobooks.
