Raul the Third was born in El Paso and grew up going back and forth between Texas and Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. He is the Pura Belpre Award-winning illustrator of Lowriders to the Center of the Earth. He currently resides with his wife and son in Boston, Massachusetts.

Gary Tiedemann is an acclaimed bilingual audiobook narrator who has recorded over two hundred titles. An Audie and Earphones award-winner, he has also voiced thousands of other professional projects, including commercials, e-learning videos, audio dramas, animation projects, and video games. The co-founder of The New Colony Theatre, he learned how to act in Chicago's improv, sketch-comedy, and theater scene.
