Jaidyn Leskie was the child of Bilynda Williams and Brett Leskie, kidnapped and murdered in Australia in 1997. Despite leads, and the arrest and trial of a prime suspect, Leskie's murder remains unsolved. Despite deciding in 2002 not to hold an inquest into the toddler's death, the case remained in the news for several more years and an inquest was held in 2006 implicating the mother's boyfriend, Greg Domaszewicz.

In 1996 Robin Bowles read a newspaper report about the alleged suicide of Victorian country housewife Jennifer Tanner. Guessing there might be a book in the 'story behind the news' she closed her PR consultancy for a year and wrote her first book, Blind Justice. She's written a bestseller almost every year since, including the definitive books on the Jaidyn Leskie murder, Justice Denied, and the disappearance and alleged murder of British tourist Peter Falconio, Dead Centre. During her new career as an investigative writer, she also obtained a university diploma to qualify her as a private inquiry agent. She is a national convenor of Sisters in Crime Australia and lives in a Melbourne warehouse with her husband, Clive.

David Baldwin is a Sydney-based actor known for Mr. Nice Guy (1997), Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (2001) and Home and Away (1988). He won the 1996 3M Talking Book Award for his narration of Highways to a War. His television credits include Water Rats, Police Rescue and numerous appearances in G.P. He has also performed in New Zealand, Greece and London.
