"Sonetos del amor oscuro" is the collection of 11 of the last sonnets written by Federico García Lorca before his tragic murder in August 1936. These poems, collected and published posthumously many years later, are poems of great beauty and classic lyricism, which delve into the feeling of tragic love that torments the author, a dark unrequited love. Lorca's verses in "Sonetos del amor oscuro" ooze desire, carnal love, suffering, violence, ecstasy, longing and martyrdom, but in them there is total sincerity, and the culmination of an immeasurable poetic work cut short too soon by tragedy. Perhaps this is the most intimate and beautiful Lorca.
