An English graduate of University of Leeds, Alison has two further Masters degrees in Creative Arts therapy from Roehampton University, and Psychology from Manchester University, and is currently completing a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
Alison is accredited by the UK Health Care and Professions Council as an arts therapist and served as a guest lecturer at Hong Kong University's professional training for Creative Arts therapists, and a clinical supervisor for Masters of Counselling trainees at Monash University. Alison's previous work includes running a national trauma recovery programme for refugee children (Hong Kong), and various roles within the NHS and NGOs specialising in acute trauma. Alison runs a successful private practice, and is currently Chair of Community Engagement for Avenues School in Sao Paulo, alongside an advisory role for anti-trafficking charity: Ellas (UK).
